Southern Belize is known as one of the best destinations in the world to target permit. They are commonly found tailing, one of the most exciting ways of targeting this difficult game species. Primarily a permit fishery, there are limited opportunities for tarpon, bonefish, and other species. The flats of Southern Belize are covered in coral, sea fans, and sea grass, so strong, durable wading boots are a must, and flies with weed guards are recommended.
